Create a free-standing paper mushroom from recycled paper and old books. Kate creates intricate, life-sized sculptures of plants and insects and curates collections and installations which aim to document different species and our experiences of them and the natural world.

About the event
During this one-day workshop, Kate will help you to build your sculpture using recycled and discarded paper, wire, and other reclaimed materials which are carved, cut, shaped, and perhaps embroidered to bring the sculptures to life. In this day-long workshop, Kate will start by researching different species and helping you choose a particular fungus to make. She will then show you the techniques needed to build your fungi as you go through the different steps of finishing your sculpture by mounting it on a stand to take home with you.
